LATEST NEWS

Hello My Darlings - how could I resist not taking part so once again I came out of retirement.

From now on I shall just say that "I am resting" - retirement is obviously not for me! I had a great time and it was lovely meeting all my friends once again.

I have created three selections of pics for you to view from the "Parade", the "Stage Shows" (of which I was in all three of them) and "Afterwards" and I hope you enjoy viewing them. If you have any pics you wish to include just send them to me.

To all the "girls" I had the pleasure of working with in the opening number "La Cage Aux Folles" on Friday night - it was great fun and I loved working with you all -

I think all of you who were fortunate enough to be in Maspalomas would agree that this has been the best ever Gay Pride!

A big thank you to Beverly Hills from Cafe La Belle for choreographing the La Cage Aux Folles routine and to John Charnley of Hollywood Bar for all his hard work and for his organising skills in the production of all three shows.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the future.

big hugs and lots of kisses

Sandra xx

.....an introduction from Sandra

Well my darlings, your Sandra has been busy gathering info and (I hope) useful tips about Gran Canaria for you all.

Our lovely island is about the same size as Greater London but offers many different climates and scenery ranging from the fertile, green region of the north, the central mountains to the dry arid south with the outstanding sand dunes and vast banana plantations in the west.

The major city of Las Palmas in the north is where you will find many shops including 'El Corte Ingles' five stories high on both sides of the street! Of course I do all my important shopping there and honestly darlings it really does put Selfridges to shame!

Six thousand foot high mountains in the centre hold the Atlantic clouds to the north and away from our southern shores.

Gran Canaria lies just a touch north of the Tropics so we don't get a nasty rainy season but enjoy instead year round hot sun and cooling trade-wind breezes. But watch out my darlings because being level with the centre of the Sahara desert our sun is over 30 percent stronger than southern Spain. So don't forget your protection - of every kind!

Playa del Ingles is the downtown area of Maspalomas and the price of a three course set meal is cheaper than anywhere up there in Europe. And so is the petrol at about 34 pence per litre. The taxis are cheap and plentiful and go non-stop day and night (they are not alone in that respect!) For tobacco and alcohol please wait until you get here - the so-called 'duty-free' planes and airports are very much more expensive!

The famous (or infamous) Yumbo Centre sits about half-way up the main drag, the Avenue Tirajana, and within its boundaries are over forty Gay bars (see my map) catering for all age groups and discos, restaurants, sex shops and tattoo parlors.
